Workshops
Latest workshop is National Arts Policy – Local Implementation, for artists, commissioned by Future-Creative, Kent in November 2011.
Also added to the workshop portfolio this summer is The Inside Story, for Artsway Associates; an insider’s view of arts funding.
With twenty years experience as an arts and creative industries professional, I am always delighted to share my knowledge with others. Current and previous clients have included Artsway Associates, University of Brighton, Sheffield Hallam University, University of Chester, Prevista Ltd, Christopher Swann Professional Development Ltd, South East Media Network and Liverpool Biennial of Art. (details here).
Each session is interactive, fun and designed for the specific group – be they undergraduates, recent graduates, artists’ groups, or micro-businesses.

As Course Director of an Arts Management programme I noticed that practising as a professional creative – in whatever artform – often holds many surprises for recent arts graduates and young businesses. You might be highly skilled in your artform but don’t know how to successfully present yourself, apply for and win opportunities, or know how to manage a project. It can be unclear where funding sources are and how funding decisions are made according to strategy and priorities, or how politics changes the climate for better or worse. Very often, it’s hard to know how to present as professionals or know where to find information or from whom.
The training package I offer is designed to tackle these needs – and is based on twenty years experience of the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the creative sector.
